Tasha McCoy is not only who I am on a daily basis, but I wanted to create a singular hub for all my businesses. You can see the growth of who I am and who I was over the years. In 2009, I launched a business in my one-bedroom apartment in Arlington, Texas. Truthfully, I did not know about running a business, but after countless hours of drinking lattes, searching google, and studying and reading business books in Borders, I got the hang of it.
Years later, I am here. Learn more about my businesses below.
We have become conditioned to believe success is a one-size-fits-all roadmap. We believe to be entrepreneurs; we must do what the masses do. Social media is telling folks that if they don’t have seven income streams and are part of the hustle culture, they’re not winning. All those are false. Not everyone is meant to be a business owner. Not everyone is meant to be a founder. However, I believe we are all called to use the talents and gifts that God provided us. If you like knitting, it doesn’t have to be a business; it’s fine staying a hobby. Are you excellent at design work? You don’t have to have a full-scale design company. Are you a natural at gardening or homesteading? You don’t need to create a course to teach others.
Sometimes you’re gifts and talents are just for you and those in your community. They do not need to be for sale because that’s what the world tells you.
My approach is simple. Design the roadmap to your definition of success and move towards that daily.
Oh, private life stuff if you care. I live in Killeen, Texas, which is right outside of Austin. I am married to Ken McCoy. I am a stepmom to Kenneth McCoy III. I rarely use the term stepmom, and that’s the same for him. We have a Doberman named Coco. My parents spoil her. I love reading books. Shopping luxury. Sending my friends memes via instagram. The amount of coffee I drank on any given day is dependent on no more than how much coffee I want to consume.
Life goal is to run a multi million dollar tech company in my small town, and live on a ranch with my family.
that is sent every blue moon, but full of great content.
Imperfect Concepts launched as an online high-end women’s boutique in July 2009. My mom and I went thrifting weekly, and I had a surplus of goods from my closet. I spent six months learning about launching an online store when brick and mortars were still trendy and most sold on eBay. I started blogging about being a business owner to share my journey with my customers and the world. From my knowledge, when customers see behind the curtain and are educated, they invest more into who you are, thus supporting your business growth.

ICB Consults was the pivot of Imperfect Concepts; after several years of running the boutique, customers and social media followers started asking me, “How did I start my own business” As naive as it sounds, I jumped right in. Then Indiana of TxSC invited me to do a workshop. The room was packed with women, even sitting on the floor and crowding the hall. I have written over 35+ ebooks designed to help women business owners launch and scale their businesses. People in Canada, Africa, Japan, Europe, and more enjoyed my ebooks.

Kick Start Your eCommerce was my first ebook to help business owners. I walked them through the website, legal, trademarks, branding, marketing, etc. After several years of being an ebook, I turned it into a course for business owners at the end of 2020 to meet the needs of my audience. On the website, you will be walked through several modules for launching your first business. It is a self-paced course with tons of content that you’re able to download and use at any time. The course and ebook were designed to simplify the launch process and make it digestible no matter your skill level.

Business Bestie. I smile as I write this because I remember the day the concept was created—an online community for women business owners. It has been a labor of love to create something I know needs to exist. If you don’t know, I am; let’s get it done now person vs. later. Having all these grand ideas isn’t an easy feat to accomplish. Every year, I said I would launch it. However, I am taking it slow and steady. Lots of behind-the-scenes legal stuff and making sure I have my ducks in a row. More to come on how Business Bestie will change how women support each other and grow their business on their terms.
